An editor that feels familiar
Monaco editing, multi-file tabs, split views, breadcrumbs and an explorer keep your project easy to navigate. Themes, icon themes, profiles and keyboard shortcuts let you make the workspace your own.
OpenMind Studio brings editing, execution, portable tooling and local services into a Windows desktop IDE built with Rust, Tauri and Monaco.
OpenMind StudioYour workspaceCapabilities vary with the application release, selected workloads and configured language tools.

Run project commands with OpenMind-managed tools available in each terminal session. Runtime paths are applied to the process without changing the machine’s global PATH.
Download, detect and manage app-local runtimes through Runtime Manager. Start with the base editor, then add interpreters, package managers and language tools for your projects.
Launch supported files and projects with the selected interpreter or compiler. Run Code works with runtime detection, tasks and terminals to resolve the tools your project needs.
Use diagnostics, symbols and navigation where the configured language server supports them. Format Document and Format on Save use available project or app-managed formatters.
Build with PHP, Composer, MariaDB and phpMyAdmin. Manage local services and ports, use Laravel helpers, and reveal or copy database credentials when needed.
Inspect images, PDF, DOCX, XLSX, CSV, Markdown and HTML inside the workspace. Read-only previews and clear binary-file fallbacks help you inspect files safely.
Workspace search and project detection help you navigate mixed-language projects. Recent files, folders and session restoration make it easier to pick up where you left off.
Detect repositories and use the Source Control view or terminal Git workflows. OpenMind-managed Git is preferred when available, so a global Git installation is not required.
Install local VSIX packages and manage supported commands, snippets, themes, views and settings. Compatibility depends on the extension’s APIs; full VS Code extension parity is still in development.
Configure optional Claude, OpenAI-compatible, Gemini or local compatible providers. The editor works without AI, and online requests depend on the provider you enable.
App-local tools, masked database passwords, encrypted API-key storage and guarded extension permissions support a practical local workflow. Package checksums and signed updater artifacts are verified where supported.
Use installed runtimes and cached packages when offline. New package downloads, remote Git operations and cloud AI still need access to their external services.
Application-managed downloads support progress, cancellation, resume, proxy-aware requests and integrity checks. Access remains subject to the network policies of your university or workplace.
Keep projects and tools together on personal, lab or office machines. Choose an official portable package when available, or a user-space EXE installation where policy permits.
